Timings and campsites can change with weather, trail conditions and the pace of the group. Your trek leader makes the final call on the day.
Moderate
Bhrigu Lake is graded Moderate: while short in duration, it gains altitude quickly, reaching 14,000 ft within two days, which can affect trekkers unaccustomed to altitude. Reasonable fitness is required, but no technical skills are needed.
The highest point on this trek is about 14,000 ft. At this height many people feel the thinner air: headaches, poor sleep or loss of appetite are common early signs of altitude sickness. Drink water, walk at a steady pace and tell your trek leader straight away if you feel unwell. The usual first response to worsening symptoms is to stop climbing or descend.
Your trek leader or guide may change the plan, wait out bad weather or turn the group around if conditions or anyone's health make it unsafe to continue. Please tell us about any medical conditions or medication when you enquire, and carry a personal first-aid kit.
Best done May to October. Rhododendrons bloom in the earlier months with some snow still near the lake; September-October brings clear skies and autumn colours. The lake often remains frozen or semi-frozen through May.

Yes, its short 3-day format makes it one of the most accessible high-altitude treks for a long weekend from Delhi or Chandigarh.
Depending on the month, the lake may be partially or fully frozen, especially in May and early June.
With reasonable fitness, yes, though the quick altitude gain means it's not entirely beginner-easy.
Nights can drop close to freezing even in summer months, so warm layers are essential.
